Protection for Self Spell:

Protection for Self Spell:

You Will Need</u>:

A White Candle
A Candle Holder
The Spell:

This spell is best performed when the moon is full.

Sit before your candle-burning altar and empower the candle with the powers of protection.

You should have already cast your magick circle and now you are going to cast an inner circle of personal protection.

Place the candle in a holder and light it.

Now slowly and very carefully, pass the candle in a wide circle around your head, transferring it from one hand to the other behind and above your head.

Do this three times, visualizing the candle flame leaving behind it a circle of protective white light that envelopes you. Now say:

"This circle of protection moves with me,
It goes where I go,
It bends where I bend,
It protects me on all sides,
From all things seen and unseen,
So mote it be"

Leave the candle to burn down and go about your day, knowing that your protective circle is with you.

If you prefer, and providing your visualization is clear, you can cast this spell with an unlit candle, and then light it afterwards.

Sagitarius:

Sagitarius:

How lucky of a Sagittarius to have its ruling planet as Jupiter, not only
one of the most important gods in Roman mythology (ruler of the heavens), but
also the planet that signifies good fortune in astrology. But luck isnt the
only trait a Sagittarius has inherited. Astrology also dictates that Jupiter
is the ruling planet of optimism and higher learning, and the Sagittarius has
no shortage of either. Always the ever-faithful seeker of truth, a Sagittarius
mission in life is to use their independence to explore the open road. To
learn more about other Sagittarius personality traits, read on

Sagittarius in a Nutshell

Born: November 22 December 21
Element: Fire ardent and active
Quality: Mutable, the quality that signifies adaptability and flexibility.
Symbol: The Archer
Lucky Day: Thursday
Lucky Number: 5 and 7
Special Color: Purple, the color of royalty and artistry
Sagittarius Traits: Optimistic, intellectual, irresponsible, restless,
freedom-loving, superficial
The world is at your fingertips, Sagittarius. At least thats how your
optimistic nature sees it. Nothing makes you happier than an open road ahead of
you that is full of possibilities, new adventures and new knowledge. You are
broad-minded and readily soak up new dimensions of thought. In particular, you
are drawn to religion, morality and philosophy due to the fact that you are a
seeker of truth and are determined to find the proverbial meaning of life.
While some people view these disciplines as limiting, you simply use them
as guides to facilitate your internal quest because a Sagittarius simply
despises confinement of any kind. Independence is the name of your game, and you
dont want to have to answer to anyone but yourself. Your schedule, if you
have one, must leave room for flexibility since your plans are frequently
changing.

While you love to talk about more obscure topics, what you dont necessarily
want to talk about is your feelings. You easily detach yourself from
emotionally-wrought situations partly because you think they can end up weighing you
down, which threatens your independence. When others come to you for advice,
you will not shy away from being straightforward and honest you say what
you mean, and most people trust you because of it.
As the eternal optimist of the zodiac, you see the glass always half full.
Your knack for being lucky could play a large part in this. To your credit,
the glass can still remain half full even after youve been disappointed. But
your optimism also comes with a price it can cause you to become unrealistic
and careless in your endeavors since you choose not to factor in the
negative components. One thing your optimism cant make up for is your restless
nature. Without new challenges, you once again feel confined.

Relationships
Your kind and cheerful disposition attracts a lot of friends, and your
honesty and trustworthiness, not to mention that youre a blast to be around,
keeps them in your circle. You are the first to help someone out, no strings
attached. However, one thing your friends have come to rely on is that your no
strings attached policy means that you dont want to be weighed down with
other peoples problems and that you often cant deliver on what you promise,
which you dont try to hide either.

As a fire sign, your best romantic matches are also fire signs Aries and
Leo. But its sometimes difficult for any romantic match to get a commitment
from you because you fear that a partner will cramp your style and make you
feel restricted. A partner must understand and accept your definition of love.
You also need someone who isnt afraid of your unabashed and unconventional
sexuality. It is also fairly common for your partners to ask more from you
in the areas of expressing your affection and dedication.
Every zodiac sign has a part of the body which they govern. Sagittarius
rules the liver, hips and thighs. It makes sense when you know that hips and
thighs represent locomotion in human anatomy, since youre always on the move.
Your legs are probably long and well-shaped, but with age, Sagittarian women
tend to see their hips and thighs get bigger. Its a good thing you love
staying active in order to temper weight gain, but you must be conscious of the
types of strain you put on your legs. Chronic aches, bruising and fractures are
common in your hip and thigh areas. Its also a good idea to monitor your
alcohol consumption to keep your liver in functioning health.

Career
A cubicle is probably not the best environment for a Sagittariuss
eight-hour work days. But one thing thats a must on your resume is a job where you
are continuously challenged. Ideally, this job would be one where youre
working for an important cause, because that is where you do your best work and
will most likely follow through. Your idealism makes you well-suited for
humanitarian jobs or non-profit organizations; you are the perfect ally to any
underdog. Money is not a huge factor in your career of choice either. Occupations
that a Sagittarius should consider include an entrepreneur, market
researcher, forester, academic, travel guide, humanitarian, consultant, philosopher,
teacher, and publisher.

Those born under the Sagittarius sign hold on tightly to their independence.
But its not always such a bad thing for this fire sign to make more
commitments in the areas of work, friendship or love, because you may just find that
your independence is still allowed to thrive after all.

If you werent born under the sign of the Archer, stay tuned to learn more
about your sign!

Pisces:

Pisces:

Every zodiac sign has a part of the body which they rule. The final sign of
the zodiac cycle, the Pisces, is ruled by the feet. Not only do Pisces feet
lead most to become great dancers, but the Pisces feet literally keep them
grounded on earth. This is a most important task of the feet since most Pisces
are in a constant battle between balancing lifes realities with their
propensity toward belonging to an illusory dream world. Pisces struggles between
the two in order to fulfill their inner journey, which must include a harmony
of both worlds. But a strong, spiritual pull isnt the only trait that
characterizes this sign. Learn more about the Pisces personality

Pisces in a Nutshell

Born: February 19 March 20
Element: Water emotional and intuitive
Quality: Mutable, the quality that signifies adaptability and flexibility.
Symbol: Two Fishes
Lucky Day: Friday
Lucky Numbers: 2 and 6
Special Color: Turquoise, the color of the sea
Pisces Traits: Emotional, intuitive, lazy, impractical, compassionate,
impressionable
Rounding out the zodiac cycle is the Pisces the sign of eternity and
reincarnation. There is an otherworldly quality to you, Pisces. Perhaps youve
been frequently called an old soul. You are inextricably linked to the
spiritual world; many astrologers believe that you have experienced other lives in
the past. Your connection to another world influences your psychic abilities
and your intuitive nature also allows you to really be able to understand
people on a deeper level. Your unique perception, combined with your easygoing
and selfless personality, affords you relationships with a lot of different
types of friends. Your first priority is the welfare of others, and that doesn
t go unnoticed by others, even though it makes you vulnerable to being taken
advantage of.

Pisces often struggle with staying in reality you feel torn when trying to
create a reasonable relationship between your material existence and your
pull toward an illusory world, where you can be impractical and dream your life
away. You are constantly in search of stability in regards to your emotions.
Everything is based on your feelings, so a lot of the time rational and
logical thinking fly right out of the door.
You frequent your dream world often, especially when the going gets tough.
You are an escape artist when it comes to dealing with the heartache that is
so common to your life. Unfortunately, you have a tendency to be the cause of
your own unhappiness, and you might escape with overindulgence and addictive
behavior. Add that to the fact that youre so easily influenced and Pisces is
often called the Sign of Undoing. But even though it is said that you
experience greater depths of sadness than any other sign, you arent as weak as you
may look. In fact, you are quite resilient.

Relationships
Those born under the Pisces sign make devoted, sensitive friends. People
look to you for a compassionate and sympathetic perspective. You will always put
your loved ones needs in front of your own. And even though you are rarely
the leader of a group, your friends and coworkers still look to you as a
guide because of your powerful, yet subtle presence.

As a water sign, your best romantic matches are also water signs Cancer
and Scorpio. You hold nothing back when it comes to love, and because you wear
your heart on your sleeve, you often end up in dramatic relationships. Your
partners may become very overwhelmed with your needs. When you feel rejected
or suspect a relationship isnt working, you can quickly overwhelm your
partner with your grievances. Romance needs to be very much a part of your
relationship and you need to feel needed. However, you have a tendency for picking
the wrong kinds of partners. When you do find the right one and feel a uniting
of souls, you are a faithful lover and partner, and nothing makes you feel
more complete than being in love.
Every zodiac sign has a part of the body which they govern. Pisces rules the
feet and the mucous membranes. You probably have beautifully-shaped feet but
are prone to bunions, corns, fungal infections, aches and stubbed or broken
toes. Generally, Pisces people arent the healthiest and you may find that
healing from an illness takes a lot longer than most people. You are also prone
to headaches due to your emotional intensity. Overindulging in eating,
drinking and staying up late is native to your sign; moderation is imperative for
your health since you have a high susceptibility toward addiction and
generally have low energy. Swimming and dancing are ideal ways for you to get in
your exercise.

Career
Any job where creativity or caretaking takes center stage is ideal for
Pisces a hard-hitting, 9 to 5 corporate world is usually not for you. When you
use your creativity and empathy to express yourself to better a cause, your
natural laziness turns into hard work and dedication. You work best by yourself
and dont have much desire to be a leader because youre too indecisive and
unsure of yourself. Money is not the end-all be-all for you, but you still
understand the necessity of it and are good at stretching your bucks.
Occupations that a Pisces should consider include a nurse, counselor, writer,
musician, veterinarian, medium, librarian, detective, poet, social worker, artist,
and designer.

Those born under the Pisces sign are deeply invested in the well-being of
those around them, but you often forget about how important it is to take care
of your built-in vulnerable nature. Remember, you give your best when youre
at your best!

Chivalry:

Wiccan Rede of Chivalry:

From Magical Rites from the Crystal Well by Ed Fitch

Insofar as the Craft of the Wise is the most ancient and most honorable
creed of humankind, it behooves all who are Witches to act in ways that
give respect to the Old Gods, to their sisters and brothers of the
Craft, and to themselves.

Therefore, be it noted that:

Chivalry is a high code of honor which is of most ancient Pagan origin,
and must be lived by all who follow the Old Ways.

It must be kenned that thoughts and intent put forth on this
middle-Earth will wax strong in otherworlds beyond, and
return...bringing into creation, on this world, that which had been sent
forth.

Thus one should exercise discipline, for "as ye do plant, so shall ye
harvest."

It is only by preparing our minds to be as Gods that we can ultimately
attain godhead.

"This above all...to thine own self be true..."

A Witch's word must have the validity of a signed and witness oath.
Thus, give thy word sparingly, but adhere to it like iron.

Refrain from speaking ill of others, for not all truths of the matter
may be known.

Pass not unverified words about another, for heresay is, in a large
part, a thing of falsehoods.

Be thou honest with others, and have them known that honesty is likewise
expected of them.

The fury of the moment plays folly with the truth; to keep one's head is
a virtue.

Contemplate always the consequences of thine acts upon others. Strive
not to harm.

Diverse covens may well have diverse news on love between members and
with others. When a coven, clan or grove is visited or joined, one
should discern quietly their practices, and abide thereby.

Dignity, a gracious manner, and a good humor are much to be admired.

As a Witch, thou hast power, and thy powers wax strongly as wisdom
increases. Therefore exercise discretion in the use thereof.

Courage and honor endure forever. Their echoes remain when the mountains
have crumbled to dust.

Pledge friendship and fealty to those who so warrant. Strengthen others
of the Brethren and they shall strengthen thee.

Thou shall not reveal secrets of another Witch or another coven. Others
have labored long and hard for them and cherish them as treasures.

Though there may be differences between those of the Old Ways, those who
are once-born must see nothing, and must hear nothing.

Those who follow the mysteries should be above reproach in the eyes of
the world.

The laws of the land should be obeyed whenever possible and within
reason, for in the main they have been chosen with wisdom.

Have pride in thyself, and seek perfection in body and in mind. For the
Lady has said, "How can thou honor another unless thou give honor to
thyself first?"

Those who seek the mysteries should consider themselves as select of the
Gods, for it is they who lead the race of humans to the highest of
thrones and beyond the very stars.

Oak:

Oak:

Plant Helper - Oak
By Cait Johnson, Assistant Producer, Care2 Healthy Living Channels.

Simple Solution
For millennia, indigenous wisdom has taught us that the green growing things offer healing.

OAK comes to us today to remind us of the importance of deep roots. After the holidays, it can be grounding to give some thought to the inner qualities that help you to feel rooted, stable, and secure. Our culture teaches us that amassing things and making more and more money is the key to security, but that path only seems to make us exhausted and depressed. What actually nourishes you?

Oak also offers the generosity of its abundant acorns that provide food for many animal species, reminding us of the power of abundance-thinking rather than the fearful sense of scarcity. If you need help here, try reading Simple Abundance by Sarah Ban Breathnach, or Your Money Or Your Life, by Joe Dominquez and Vicki Robin. Spend a little time hanging out with an oak tree to feel its serene, deeply-rooted, and abundant energy.

Vegetable oil

Anoint the candle with the oil, then roll it in the glitter. Light the candle and visualize all deception being swept from your midst and all relevant information being out in the open.
Then ask the assistance of Father Sun (noon-3:00 pm) and say something like:

Father Sun, iluminate
What's hidden now and terminate
The need for cloaks and secrecy
Remove them so that I can see
What I should do to end this strife
And move forward with my life
Let me see all with clarity
As I will, so mote it be.

Ginger Root Extract::

Ginger Root Extract:

Ginger is a fan favorite in the form of ginger ale and gingerbread cookies during the holidays, but ginger is also an herb that is used for medicinal purposes. Next time you feel groggy, nauseated and achy (among other conditions), try taking ginger root extract

What Is Ginger Root Extract?
Ginger Root Extract is made from ginger, most commonly regarded as a spice used in cooking. Ginger is closely related to two other spices, turmeric and marjoram, adding a touch of heat and lemon-flavor to foods. You may have had ginger before when drinking ginger ale or eating ginger snap cookies.

How Does Ginger Root Extract Work?
Ginger has been used in ancient India, China, Greece and Rome, both as a culinary and medicinal spice. Pills, hot teas, and crystallized ginger candies are used to deliver a ginger-packed punch that can alleviate nausea, dizziness, inflammation, muscle aches, allergy symptoms and even flatulence.

Ginger is a popular treatment for easing digestive upsets, because of its action on the digestive tract to increase digestive fluid and neutralize acids, which can contribute to upset stomach. Ginger is a natural alternative to anti-nausea drugs and may provide an out for those seeking to eliminate side effects, such as grogginess, which usually accompanies conventional anti-nausea medications.

Reducing nausea and dizziness is especially helpful for treating seasickness, morning sickness, postoperative nausea, nausea from chemotherapy treatments, and general digestive complaints. Two neutralize acids separate studies showed a positive correlation between ginger and decreased nausea. One study was conducted using sailors, split into two groups. The first group was instructed to take 1 gram of powdered ginger per day, and the 2nd group took a placebo. The group taking the ginger had a significantly decreased occurrence of nausea and cold sweats, which are classic symptoms of seasickness. A second study followed women who were undergoing surgery. They were also instructed to take 1 gram of ginger, resulting in a decrease in post-surgery nausea and vomiting.

Ginger also has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving abilities, which is of huge importance to those suffering from arthritis, which is often a result of severe inflammation of the joints. Allergy sufferers and those dealing with a cold may also find relief in using ginger, as it calms the inflammation associated with these condition, thus reducing the duration of the symptoms. Muscle aches and chronic pain can also be calmed with the use of ginger, either taken orally or rubbed onto the affected area in oil form. Finally, ginger supplements or fresh ginger can be used to relieve excessive flatulence.

How Can I Make The Most Out Of Ginger Root Extract?
There is no RDA for ginger because it is not an essential nutrient. General recommendations given for digestive upsets, arthritis and chronic pain or muscle aches is to take 100-200 mg in pill form, 1-2 grams of fresh powdered ginger, or a fresh -inch piece, each of which should be taken with food to avoid stomach irritation. LifeScript provides Ginger Root Extract in our Digestive Relief pill.

Ginger can also be used in tea form with the same great results. Pre-packaged teabags are available at most grocery stores, or you can make your own tea by steeping grated ginger root in hot water. Ginger ale is also available at most grocery stores, but make sure you buy a natural ginger ale vs. commercialized ginger sodas, which dont contain a significant amount of the herb. Natural ginger ales give about 1 gram of ginger per 8-oz serving.

If you have a sweet tooth, a great way to get a daily serving of ginger that can be eaten as a snack or on-the-go, is crystallized ginger candy, which is available at most health food stores. Two pieces of this candy can supply the 1 gram serving that is recommended for best results.

As usual, it is always important that you check with your doctor before experimenting with herbal supplements, especially if you are pregnant, lactating, taking prescription medications or have a pre-existing medical condition.
